Stan kicks off a new series where he introduces a concept called “E3″…Encounter, Equip and Engage. E3 presents the foundational elements for discipleship and and mission.
In this message Stan begins to unpack the E3 elements but he does so on the foundation that love must be the all-encompassing motive for our actions. In our western mindset, it is often truth, regardless of how it is presented, that over-rules love. Truth is still important, but it must be presented and sought after in love.

If you ever done even minor home improvement, you’ve probably had to deal with building codes. At the most basic level, building codes ensure houses are built to safely withstand all the environmental world has to throw at it. Code typically dictates the material specifications and structural requirements…both very crucial when you think about earthquakes, hurricanes and our recent 3 feet of snow.
Its much the same with the spiritual house Peter talks about. The spiritual house must also weather all this world has to throw at it. In chapter 1, Peter presents certain ways of life (building codes, if you will) that create structural integrity and stronger bonds with one another, and ultimately, stronger bond to The Foundation.
Listen in as Stan highlights these 5 dispositions and hear how we can use them to build a stronger house fixed securely to The Foundation.

“The wise man built his house upon the rock…the foolish man built his house upon the sand. The rains came down and the floods came up…” Which house was still standing in the end?
Peter discusses a similar idea in I Peter. Peter continues his metaphor of us, as part of the church, being rocks used to build a spiritual house. This spiritual house is set upon the Living Rock, the firm foundation. A foundation that holds strong through the worst of storms. As the building blocks of that house, the more contact we have with the Living Rock, the more immovable we become.
Listen in as Stan digs deeper into how we cement ourselves to the Living Rock, and how the cracks and blemishes actually strengthen the bond to the Foundation.

In this message, Stan kicks of a new series entitled House of Living Stones. This series is a walk through the book of Peter.
In his book, Peter uses the idea that the church is house of living stones. And, if we as a the Church are going to reach the margins of society, and those pushed away by the institutional Church or never interested in the Church…this House of Living Stones metaphor is an ideal way to demonstrate Jesus’ power, love, grace and mercy in the world. Listen in as Stan explores I Peter 1.

Beyond Jesus, Mary and Joseph, no Nativity scene is complete without three wise men. The gospels obviously speak of their presence and even tells how they found their way to Bethlehem. But, have you ever wondered about that; what kind of star stays in one place for any amount of time? How did they know a King had been born?
Well, Stan concludes The Naivety series with some philosophy, history and even astronomy to show how God reveals Himself to accomplish His Mission. And, we find out what the final part of the Trinity, the Spirit, gave us in Jesus’ birth on that first Christmas.

The New Year brings new beginnings and fresh starts. It also brings with it uncharted waters and the unknown. To venture forward into the unknown can be difficult, even frightening, but when we follow God to new places and situations His faithfulness is unfailing.
Pathways’ own, Dale Woodring brings this week’s message with a look into Isaac’s long distance search for a wife as an example of how God leads us through the unknown and, as always, is faithful to deliver if we trust in Him. Listen in to hear the whole story.
